Our Mission

More
Than a
Sport

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America. But in the inner city? Not yet. Billy's Pickleball Kids is here to change that.

We bring the game — and everything it builds — to middle school students in Springfield. Beyond fundamentals, our goal is to build community, develop teamwork, and instill sportsmanship that follows young people off the court and into life.

Community
Building real connections between students, volunteers, and Springfield neighborhoods.
Teamwork
Every rally teaches kids what it means to compete together and support each other.
Sportsmanship
Court etiquette, grace in competition, and respect — values that last a lifetime.
Access
No cost. No experience required. Just a willingness to learn and compete gracefully.

The Founder

Bill Johnson

Founder & Chair, Billy's Pickleball Kids

Bill Johnson has spent a lifetime in sports and in service — as an athlete, a financial leader, and now as the founder of Billy's Pickleball Kids. When Bill discovered pickleball, he didn't just fall in love with the game. He saw an opportunity.

Pickleball is exploding across America — but that growth hasn't reached every community equally. Bill founded Billy's Pickleball Kids to change that, bringing the sport to inner city middle school students in Springfield who deserve the same access, the same opportunities, and the same joy that the game provides everywhere else.

His mission has always been to make a difference in people's lives. This is how he's doing it.
