Billy's Pickleball Kids runs entirely on community generosity. Equipment is covered — the biggest current need is equipment and instructor support so every Kiley Middle student gets quality time on the court.
Every dollar goes directly to the kids. In-kind donations also welcome.
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America. But in the inner city? Not yet. Billy's Pickleball Kids is here to change that.
We bring the game — and everything it builds — to middle school students in Springfield. Beyond fundamentals, our goal is to build community, develop teamwork, and instill sportsmanship that follows young people off the court and into life.
Billy's Pickleball Kids is proud to partner with Kiley Middle School, bringing pickleball instruction directly into their summer program. Students are split into Group A and Group B, each receiving 8 hours of hands-on instruction over the course of the summer — led by IPTPA-certified instructor Randy White, with paddles, balls, and even a ball launcher fully covered by donations.
Bill Johnson has spent a lifetime in sports and in service — as an athlete, a financial leader, and now as the founder of Billy's Pickleball Kids. When Bill discovered pickleball, he didn't just fall in love with the game. He saw an opportunity.
Pickleball is exploding across America — but that growth hasn't reached every community equally. Bill founded Billy's Pickleball Kids to change that, bringing the sport to inner city middle school students in Springfield who deserve the same access, the same opportunities, and the same joy that the game provides everywhere else.
His mission has always been to make a difference in people's lives. This is how he's doing it.
